The third tier mission in Modern Warfare 3: Zombies ' third act, Confrontation , will have players push back against the Terminus Outcomes forces determined to spread the aether plague throughout the globe. In the mission, Storm The Castle, players will tackle all three of the different mercenary outposts available in MWZ, attempting to take out the warlord of Urzikstan and collect the research of a doctor veterans of Call of Duty Zombies will know all too well.

Circling the story back to Dr. Strauss and the research done by the Omega Group during the 80s, players will have to clear Legacy's Fortress in Urzikstan and collect Strauss's research for Operation Deadbolt and Dr. Jansen to get one step closer to finding a solution to the outbreak.

The third tier mission for Act 3, Confrontation, will have players tackle all three types of Mercenary outposts in Urzikstan.

Storm The Castle has four objectives that should be completed subsequently in a single deployment. While players do not have to complete these objectives in a single deployment, failing to do so will have players repeat objectives, as the warlord is only found inside the fortress, the fortress cannot be accessed until a Mercenary Stronghold safe has been cracked, and the research notes can only be collected by defeating the Warlord. While Stronghold Keycards can be purchased from buy stations, they can be acquired quicker by clearing an encampment. The four objectives for the Storm the Castle mission are:

Upon completion of all four objectives, players will receive a random perk in-game, along with the Malicious Marrow weapon and 3000 bonus experience.

Players can easily find encampments in the first two zones of Urzikstan. Look for an icon on the tac-map that looks like a tent . Head to the encampment, and remember to eliminate the counter UAV on approach to prevent any electrical interference with attachments and the player HUD. Remove all stationed mercenary forces to complete the activity - once all forces are eliminated, find the small mercenary crate located in the middle of the encampment and grab the Stronghold Keycard.

With the stronghold keycard in hand, head to the nearest Mercenary Stronghold - marked on the tac map with a symbol resembling a rook or castle chess piece. Use the keycard to open the stronghold and push through the forces inside. In higher threat zones, players should be prepared to deal with several shield and recon mercenaries . These enemies do spawn in Mercenary Strongholds in the low-threat areas, just in significantly smaller numbers and with less intelligent AI.

Clear the enemies in the stronghold and find the safe - plant the drill to begin infiltrating the safe . Once the drilling process begins, reinforcement helicopters will begin dropping additional recon and elite mercenaries into the area, post up by the drill and keep the Mercenaries out until the safe is cracked.

Once open, players can access the safe and acquire the Fortress Keycard inside - along with a 3-plate vest. Once players take the fortress keycard the stronghold activity will complete along with the second objective in Storm the Castle.

Currently, in Season 1, there is only one Warlord available to defeat in Modern Warfare Zombies, Legacy. Players will need to infiltrate the fortress located in the Northwest quadrant of Urzikstan, near Popov Power.

Take the fortress keycard acquired from the safe inside the mercenary stronghold and FPS games reviews head to Legacy's Fortress. Players will need to push through several outposts guarded with sentry guns, snipers, and shock troopers, along with an attack helicopter that will deploy to the area the moment players begin assaulting the fortress. Players will want to drop the attack helicopter before entering the fortress compound - Launchers, LMGs, and the Ray Gun are most effective for rapidly destroying the helicopter.

With the helicopter down, enter the compound from the east wall, be sure to avoid the sentry gun stationed just south of the east entrance. Dip past the sentry gun and into the warehouse behind for cover. This warehouse is a great position to hold while pushing back stationed troops and reinforcement helicopters until enough enemies have been cleared to open the fortress entrance.

Only once players have total control of the outside area and can immediately react to (and eliminate) any incoming reinforcements, players should prepare to unlock and infiltrate the fortress.

The moment players open the door, shield mercenaries will barge out - be prepared to flank them, or put mines down just outside the fortress entrance to dispatch these enemies immediately. Inside the fortress, players will encounter several shockwave traps, flash decoys, and trophy systems defending the elite mercenaries.

Move calmly through the first floor, clearing all enemies - push up the stairs to the second floor, and before reaching the top of the stairs turn around and climb over the railing to the second floor to flank the holed-up elites. Be cautious of the tripwire grenades at the top of the stairs and in the doorway to Legacy's room.

Due to the trophy systems upstairs, players will not be able to effectively use lethal or tactical equipment against Legacy . Destroy the shockwave traps guarding the entrance to Legacy's room - there will be one just to the right of the main doorway and another across the room facing directly at the door.

Once both traps are down, eliminate all the elite mercenaries defending Legacy - be cautious of the flash decoys in the corners of the rooms. Once all elites are down, players can turn their focus to Legacy and eliminate the Warlord. Wonder Weapons like the Ray Gun are highly effective against Legacy, capable of eliminating the Warlord in a few shots.

One squadmate should hold back and defend the fortress entrance as reinforcements will be constantly attempting to flank players. These bursts of recon mercenaries can be lethal but are easily dealt with if players are vigilant.

Once Legacy is eliminated, he will drop the Strauss's Research quest item - players simply need to pick up the tablet dropped by Legacy to acquire the research. If players complete all four objectives in order, the mission should be completed the moment players pick up the tablet from the area near where Legacy died, awarding the random perk powerup along with the two mission rewards.
